Gump & Company or Gump & Co. is a cancelled sequel to the 1994 Academy-Award winning film Forrest Gump. It is based on the 1995 book of the same name.

Plot

Sometime after the first story, Forrest Gump's company Bubba Gump Shrimp Co. expands on the market. The only problem is Forrest can't keep up with the marketing demands. Later, Forrest witnesses various '80s events that made history including Ronald Reagan's Presidency, the Iran-Contra affair, the New Coke marketing disaster, Black Monday, the end of the Cold War, amongst many other well-known 80's events. In the early '90s, Forrest would join the Army a second time during the First Gulf War, would meet Bill Clinton during the early times of his first term in office (even during the Whitewater case) and in the mid '90s, Forrest would later realize that Rudolph Guiliani would later become Mayor of New York City and see how he would be making big changes to the city.

Why It Was Cancelled

  1. Tom Hanks and Robert Zemeckis both expressed no interest in doing a sequel.
  2. Winston Groom, the author of the first book and its sequel, got into a heated feud with Paramount.
  3. The September 11th attacks delayed the film.
